Market Square Part 2 - Patch Notes

New features

Grace: Essence of the Divine’s power

Grace is an ethereal currency central to player progression, rewards, and social systems in Pax Dei. It symbolizes the Divine's power, enabling you to perform miracles for yourself or those you care about. How to Acquire Grace

  • Daily Login: Receive a small amount of Grace for free each day just by logging in.

  • Gold Exchange: Spend gold to acquire additional Grace. However, the cost increases progressively—the more Grace you buy in a single day, the more expensive each point becomes. This scaling resets every 24 hours (real-time).

How Grace Works

  • Once obtained, Grace can be spent to perform miracles that provide powerful abilities, bonuses, or practical utilities. There’s no limit to how much Grace you can accrue, and your total Grace pool is shared across all your characters within the same server region (EU, US, or AP).

  • You can track your current Grace balance in the Grace menu and unlock its potential to shape your journey in Pax Dei.

  • Grace will be developed and become more prominent with future patches.

Miracles: Unlocking Divine Powers

Miracles are powerful and thematic abilities designed to enhance your experience in Pax Dei. Whether you're focused on exploration, crafting, combat, or socializing, there’s a Miracle for every playstyle and level of wealth. They allow you to perform supernatural feats, receive divine blessings, and harness extraordinary powers to shape your journey.

Costs and Accessibility

  • Most Miracles require Grace to cast, though some are free. Notably, familiar abilities like the home Teleport and corpse-summoning miracles (previously in the utility menu, T) are now integrated into the new Miracle menu and remain free of Grace cost.

  • You can access the Miracle menu by pressing T.

Introducing New Miracles

  • The first wave of new Miracles in this patch focuses on boosting your gathering and crafting efficiency.

  • These essential blessings are automatically granted to all players.

  • Additional Miracles will be introduced over time, many of which will require exploration and progression to unlock.

New Miracles: Gathering and Profession Blessings

Gathering Blessings

Gathering blessings increase the efficiency of specific resource-gathering activities, offering bonus yields when active. These blessings have a duration of 1 hour and can be refreshed by recasting the same Miracle. Different gathering blessings can be used simultaneously.

  • Bountiful Harvest: Increases yield from gathering plants, mushrooms, and other gathering nodes.

  • Prospector’s Blessing: Boosts yield from mining nodes.

  • Nature’s Favor: Enhances yield from tree chopping.

  • Hunter’s Favor: Improves yield from skinning (e.g., hide drops).

Profession Blessings

Profession blessings temporarily enhance crafting skills, increasing the success rate of crafting tasks and, in turn, accelerating XP gains. These blessings do not impact XP rewards directly or unlock recipes, as the base skill is used for those purposes.

  • Different profession blessings can be active at the same time.

  • If two blessings boost the same skill, only the strongest buff applies (e.g., Armorer’s and Weapon Smith’s blessings both buff Blacksmithing but won’t stack).

These blessings also have a duration of 1 hour and can be refreshed by recasting the same Miracle.

  • Alchemist’s Blessing: +1 Alchemy.

  • Baker’s Blessing: +1 Baking.

  • Carpenter’s Blessing: +1 Carpentry.

  • Cook’s Blessing: +1 Cooking and Charcuterie.

  • Jeweler’s Blessing: +1 Jewelry Making.

  • Tailor’s Blessing: +1 Tailoring.

  • Winemaker’s Blessing: +1 Winemaking and Brewing.

  • Armorer’s Blessing: +1 Armor Smithing and Blacksmithing.

  • Weapon Smith’s Blessing: +1 Weapon Smithing and Blacksmithing.

  • Hunter’s Blessing: +1 Leatherworking and Fletching.

Future Plans

In the future, higher-tier versions of these blessings will be introduced. These upgraded Miracles will offer greater benefits, come at a higher Grace cost, and may require unlocking through exploration and progression. We also plan to introduce other types of Miracles, such as ones that facilitate traveling.

Miracles are just the beginning of what Pax Dei has in store—let the Divine guide you on your path!

Known Issues

Grace

  • After validation, players can still change the Grace for Gold amount during the animation. There is no exploit here. The final amounts for both Grace and Gold are the ones considered.

  • Opening the Miracles' wheel should not prevent world interactions.

  • Grace for Gold action can be performed while falling - there is no miracle to prevent the fall damage.

  • Grace menu: Sometimes, there is a visual glitch when closing the grace menu that may only be visible with low fps.

  • The Crafting difficulty displayed is not updated correctly when a miracle is active - it is a display issue only, the system takes the miracles correctly into consideration.

PvE / Dungeons

  • We are aware of the issue regarding some loot piles in dungeons that are too easily accessible. While some of these should now be better guarded, we are looking at making changes to all loot piles in the future so that players wouldn't be able to get the loot without having made the required effort first.

  • A wall without collision is present in the corridor of The Absterium dungeon.

  • Inconsistent camera behavior triggered by specific Zebian NPCs' proximity and attack animations.

  • There are some visibility issues in a submerged shadowed room in The Oubliettes Dungeon.

  • Casting a Pacify spell on an already aggroed enemy results in the lulled animation even though it is actively attacking.

Crafting

  • Heartwood can be obtained with blessing without the woodcutting level requirement.

  • The description of Basic Distilling Tools is incorrect - both the name and the description should be amended.

  • Leather Brigandine is a solid shape with no holes for the neck and arms.

  • Three pairs of shoes lack ankle holes when examined.

  • Leather pants are a solid shape with no holes for the legs.

UX/UI

  • The [E] key displayed in the Split Stack window is non-functional. Clicking on the button works.

  • Pressing [E] closes the radial menu [T].

  • Multiple parts of the inventory UI are misaligned.

  • There is a one-slot gap in the second line of the buff bar.

  • Chat UI appears for a brief second upon opening the "Party" or "Notifications" window.

  • Icons are not representative of all wearable variants.

  • The receiver of the Party invite also gets "Party invite has been sent" message, which often persists.

Characters

  • Character Creator: Modifying the base face overrides pupil and iris size changes.

  • Character Creator: Neutral male body appearance is misrepresented by default.

  • The button to Randomize a name in Character Creator is always greyed out.

  • Idling on the lobby and then trying to create a character will show an empty region select screen and kick the user back to the login screen.

  • 2h Spears clip through the left fist.

  • The player retains their items after the first death due to fall damage on a newly created character.

Misc.

  • Having HP and Stamina recover simultaneously may cancel the logout timer.

  • Summon Party Corpse and Summon Player Corpse do not display an error before casting when there is no corpse or no corpse in range.

  • Time of day transitions are heavily stepped, with noticeable jumps in lighting when observing shadows.

  • Humanoid NPC eye movement is visible when in a dead state.

  • The moon and stars no longer rotate in the night sky.

  • Double-clicking on a Custom Marker on the map while a Waypoint has been set will move the Waypoint to the Marker.

  • The Early Access version text is misaligned with the rest of the interface and offsets it vertically.
