Pax Dei turns one! Horses and a special anniversary boost are coming!
Hello Paxians,
Today marks one year since we officially released Pax Dei! It's been a busy, incredible journey, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
So, thank you to all the players who built villages, formed clans, fought over Lyonesse, crafted, explored, returned after a break, gave feedback, reported bugs (long live F9!), shared ideas, and helped keep Pax Dei feeling like a living world.
And because an anniversary deserves more than a birthday message, we have a few things planned for… before too long.
Coming Soon!
- We are getting close to deploying our next content patch on all servers. R49: Saddle Up! will bring horses to Pax Dei. We still need at least one more patch on the PTS before going live everywhere, so at best, you can expect it toward the end of next week.
- With the release of R49: Saddle Up!, we also plan to give everyone a special anniversary boost that lasts a few days. This should include an XP boost to Gathering, Combat, and Riding skills, a Grace boost for both Daily Grace and Gold offerings, and perhaps something else. We'll share the details once we set the release date.
- One change is actually already live: we have updated the rules around Plot Tokens. Previously, unused Plot Tokens expired 12 months after you acquired them. We have removed that expiration entirely, so if you still have unused Tokens from release, they will be waiting for you whenever you decide to come back.
Less friction and more options
Since 1.0, we have removed some of the friction for new players and made Pax Dei easier to start and smoother to play. And if you haven’t tried the game yet, there is now a completely free 7-day Trial on Steam, giving you access to the full Pax Dei experience for a week.
Achievements, reworked XP progression, better material recovery on failed crafts, inventory management improvements have all made the early game easier to approach. Duels, emotes, and customization have strengthened social play, while expanded archery, PvP objectives, mastercrafting, building options, world polish, and performance improvements have given players more to do and more ways to shape the world.
With the arrival of Horses in Saddle Up!, we also hope to make travel between valleys and provinces more practical and encourage more interaction across the world, while preserving the sense of scale that makes Pax Dei feel like a real, vast place.
Coming back should be easier too
We know that returning to a persistent world after a long break can feel intimidating. Alongside the Plot Token change above, several updates since release should make getting back into Pax Dei considerably smoother.
- Redeeming Queue improvements: items recovered from expired plots can now be claimed from any Home Valley within the same world, instead of being tied to the valley where the plot was located.
- Dozens of quality-of-life improvements: larger stack sizes, Quick Stack, Take All, Craft All, better recipe sorting, improved crafting XP curves, better material recovery on failed crafts, more queue slots for the tier 2 processing crafters, improved maps with better zoom, marker filters and biome information, clearer notifications and tooltips, and many smaller improvements throughout the game.
- Almost 300 achievements guide newcomers and help returning players getback on track at their own pace.
In short, if you haven’t visited Pax Dei in a while, your land may be gone, but getting back on your feet should be easier than before, and your unused Plot Tokens aren’t going anywhere.
Discord, the place to be
Our official Discord server is where you'll find the freshest game news, share experiences, find community resources, get help from veterans, or find a Clan. It’s also the best place to hear about in-game Clan events: weddings, tournaments, grand gatherings, and more.
And before we wrap up, here are just a few snapshots from the community over the past year. They only show a tiny fraction of the incredible builds, gatherings, events, and adventures you’ve created, but they’re a good reminder of how much life you’ve brought to Pax Dei.

Whether you have been with us since day one, joined somewhere along the way, or are thinking about returning for Saddle Up!, thank you for being part of this first year!
Here’s to year two!
Pax vobiscum,
The Mainframe Team
