We’ve made a major pass on crafting XP across Blacksmithing, Weaponsmithing, Armorsmithing, Tailoring, and Leatherworking.

Crafting XP is now based on the materials and effort required to make an item, resulting in more consistent XP gains across all recipes within a profession.

Finished items now grant significantly more XP than before.

Component crafting often grants less XP than before.

Failing a recipe now grants up to 4× more XP than before.

Trivial recipes now grant 3× more XP than before.

Armor recipe difficulty has been rebalanced within each Tier to provide meaningful crafting choices for multiple equipment slots throughout progression.

The difficulty gap between Common, Uncommon, and Rare armor pieces now scales more smoothly at higher Tiers. Early Tiers retain larger difficulty differences, while higher Tiers offer closer difficulty between rarities.

Material costs for two-handed weapons (including staves) have been slightly increased, and these items now grant higher XP rewards.

Reduced Charcoal cost for smelting Steel to 150.

Increased material costs for Tier 1 Uncommon (green) armor pieces.

Adjusted stack sizes to fix most cases where crafted outputs took up more inventory space than their ingredients, reducing inventory issues during craft-all actions. See detailed list of stack changes below. 

The Limestone building set is now significantly stronger than wooden counterparts and provides more integrity.

Limestone Pillars and other reinforcement pieces now grant more stability than Limestone Walls.

Fixed several tool and weapon recipes that were using incorrect components, particularly recipes that should require Fine Sword Hilts.

Removed the Steel Anvil Head recipe, which is currently unused.

Linseed Oil requires less materials to craft.

Fixed an issue where Wooden Shield did not grant XP from crafting.

Bronze Bar recipe produces ( 1 ) ⇒ 2 Bars now, same as other metal bar recipes

Most weapons and tools that required a shaft or a hilt (which already included Leather Bands or Coarse Leather bands) also redundantly required additional Coarse Leather Bands in the final combination. The only ones that still do are staves.

Many recipes have been tweaked to improve progression consistency and balance between weapon types.

These changes were made with the goal of striking a balance where; a) They are meaningful time-savers for active crafters who need to mass produce components b) They do not create friction for newer players and their initial crafting c) They do not accidentally introduce new bottlenecks (for example, being unable to process materials because you cannot meet a new minimum batch size of materials).

We initially tested larger sizes of these on PTS but following your feedback we tuned them back down and hopefully found the right balance point that will satsify most players.

By "same ratio" we mean that the cost of the material produced is the same.

If a recipe says 1 ⇒ 2 it means that it now produces 2 components instead of only 1

To reduce inventory friction and improve workshop flow, we’re also increasing stack sizes for:

Introduced Master Crafted items, which feature a distinct icon, display the Item Power bonus, and show the crafter’s name in the item details.

Items that have ‘Item Power’ can now be Master Crafted when a craft rolls 95% success or higher, granting a +50 Item Power bonus on eligible items.

Master Crafting chances scale with your skill level relative to recipe difficulty, with the highest chances on mastered recipes. 

New characters now start with a placeable Storage Chest in their inventory along with basic tools and weapons to get going.

Did some experimental fixes on how NPCs are spawned in the game - we are looking forward to your feedback on the matter.

Besides being a QoL feature the slash commands also allow you to perform social actions remotely, like forming a party.

We’ve updated the Character Menu to improve clarity, consistency, and ease of use.

The Character Menu has been moved to a right-hand side panel, making it consistent with other in-game menus.

Inspecting items and elements now displays their details in a floating tooltip, shown on hover or click.

The Equipment tab no longer takes control of the camera. Your character is now displayed directly in the menu, giving you more freedom to move and adjust your view.

The Equipment tab displays your character’s name and average item power below your character.

Selecting an equipment slot now displays only items that can be equipped in that slot, making gear management faster and clearer.

The Stats view has been moved from a small pop-up to its own dedicated tab.

Several new stats have been added to the Stats overview, along with unique icons for each stat.

The Skills tab has been moved from the Journal into the Character Menu, grouping all character-related information in one place.

We’ve updated the Clan Menu to improve readability and bring it in line with the rest of the interface.

The Clan Menu has been moved to a right-hand side panel, making it consistent with other in-game menus.

Inspecting clan-related elements now shows their details in a floating tooltip, displayed on hover or click.

Players who are not part of a clan will see two tabs: Join Clan and Create Clan.

Players who are already in a clan will see three tabs: News (Clan Announcements), Members, and Applicants.

Clan settings, including heraldry customization and options to leave or disband a clan, are now accessible from the top-right corner of the Clan Menu.

All attributes/Stats shown in the details panel of any item have received unique icons to improve recognition.

Stability Improvements for the Discord connection.

Crafting stations will now auto-scroll past easier recipes when accessed.

When sending a party invite to a player, the "Party invite has been sent" notification now appears only once.

Character Creator colour selections should be more persistent going forward (hair colour, eyebrows, and makeup).

Enchanted items and their enchantment level attributes are now displayed in the market listing.

Extending plot time with grace now is projected correctly and is greyed out when there is more than 1 month of expiration time on the plot.

The Plot extension button is now greyed out when the player has no more tokens or the plot has more than 30 days left, and the player is notified why they cannot extend the plot.

Fixed an issue where the sort setting of the Market Stall list was reset when buying or editing an item.

Fixed an issue where the plot name was reset to “No Plot Name” when Edit was confirmed without any modifications.

Fixed an issue where, when a filter was applied, the “Filters active, showing x of y orders” text always displayed the number of orders on the current page for both values in Heartland Markets.

Gathering miracles now correctly display the skill bonuses they grant.

We did a broad pass to improve resource readability within the biomes and make the scale more consistent. This included changes like:

Converting small, low-resource clusters to larger clusters. E.g., strawberries, many flowers, and most mushrooms

Made some plants taller or just bigger. E.g., blueberry is now replaced by a blueberry bush

Tweaked colors to make some resources stand out more from the grass

Made a few plants more iconic. E.g Daisy is now the more common white variety

Make the non-interactive grass and small plants more homogeneous and slightly lower

While at it, we also recreated a few plants from scratch to improve the visual quality. E.g. Cotton plant

Tweaked Granite stairs so that the steps don’t clip through a granite wall when snapped together.

Adjusted visual effects on regrowth spell.

Bloodfed Grove VFX no longer lingers after casting a spell.

Fixed an issue where some foliage was appearing in places it was not supposed to.

Removed floating border stones in Avalon, Lyonesse.

Some new emotes have been added: Insult, Show Respect, Let’s Go!, and Call Out

Moods: The Emotes menu now includes an additional tab that lets you pick a facial expression that reflects your current mood. Pressing C twice is a quick way to access it.

The mood you select persists until you pick another. The top entry is the current neutral expression.

Emotes now have some basic facial animation, but they don’t override your current mood. Emotes can be changed quite a bit by mixing them with various moods.

The Clan invite notifications (N) only appear for a second. 

Messages written on Zone chat will not show above the character's head. 

/clanpromote command system message does not specify that changing the clan's Alderman is blocked only through slash commands 

The character panel is still named "Equipment" in the Controls setting. 

The item details panel can jitter in various crafters.

The open chat settings shortcut (Z key by default) is unresponsive.

The "Help" keybind is still present in the Controls menu, even though the action has been removed.

Invited Clan candidates have an extraneous “Application Message” module in the Applicants section of the Clan menu.

Goats initiate aggression against Players based on proximity.

This patch introduces significant changes to the Mournel tree-balancing algorithm to address community feedback. The issues we’re addressing are:

In our first Mournel balancing, large trees dropped a significant amount of Mournwood, and when this tree type spawned, it was always the only one available in Lyonesse at the time. As a result, the optimal strategy for gathering Mournwood was to form a large, uncontestable group, undermining the intended PvP dynamics in Lyonesse.

Additionally, spawn times are currently concentrated within a very narrow time window.

There’s been wide speculation about how the instances affect the Mournels. We fully agree that we don’t want any tree to be harvestable without being contested.

These changes to the trees will be as follows:

The base spawn times will be expanded to cover 4:30 PM local time to 11:30 PM local time, every day, in the region, with the most spawns happening between 7 PM and 9 PM, so the time span covered is more than double that of the earlier. 

Every day of the week will feature the same base spawns, which are all made of the small trees, with all four buildable areas of Lyonesse getting a spawn at the same time. The 7 PM and 9 PM spawns will feature a total of 8 concurrent spawns, 2 per area. With this change, a large group can still dominate a single tree if they so choose. Still, it will be impossible to block all tree acquisition for the spawn moment entirely, and the wood yield per participant will be very low, so the optimal strategy will be to go after multiple small trees with smaller groups. 

The large number of spawns will also mean smaller groups are much more likely to find a tree that might not be contested at all, or is being harvested by a group they can engage. The intent of the trees has always been that there is a significant risk of PvP when harvesting them, but actual fighting is not guaranteed every time, and this update should move the needle in this direction.

Having spawns occur concurrently in four areas greatly reduces the chance of a second instance being created, which in rare cases could otherwise leave a group alone in that second instance.

Tuesdays and Saturdays will continue to be special, with extra spawns in the central Lyonesse area. These spawns partially overlap the spawns in other areas, so up to 11 trees will be spawned at the same time in the whole of Lyonesse. Both days will feature an additional medium and large tree spawn, so there is still a reason for larger-scale battles.

To accommodate the significantly higher number of spawns, the amount of wood per Mournel has been slightly reduced to 16, 50, and 160. Overall, the total amount of Mournwood that can be gathered per day and per week remains almost unchanged after these balancing adjustments.

We’ll monitor how these changes affect the overall experience in Lyonesse and continue to discuss the game's future with all of you on Discord.

Notably, we are aware of performance issues in large-scale battles and have profiled the game to identify the root causes of the degradation. We have good leads on what is happening and are actively working to fix the performance issues we’re seeing. We’re also working on additional changes to improve performance presets for rendering.

New resource: Mournwood, which you can harvest from new Mournel trees that only appear in Lyonesse. Be careful - Fast Travel is disabled if you carry Mournwood.

Mournel trees are very scarce and appear only in the world during regional peak game hours in the evening. You will see the spot where a tree is about to appear in the game map of Lyonesse, a set amount of time before it spawns.

Mournel trees are very tough and have a ton of health. Fully harvesting one will likely require sustained effort from many players. However, Mournwood is given in stages; a single player can harvest it, even if entirely chopping down the tree would take much longer.

Lyonesse will gain 12 new Feudal Shrines that only a Clan Elder and the Alderman can claim. Claiming a Feudal Shrine site costs both Gold and Mournwood. The sites have a Mournwood upkeep cost, with storage for up to a week’s worth of upkeep.

Claiming a Feudal Shrine allows you to place three plots at the site, which can be upgraded to host up to 22 plots.

You can set a Feudal Shrine that your Clan has claimed as your Petra Mea Home point, and you can use a spell that costs 20 Grace to fast travel to it.

The balancing related to Mournels and the Shrines was changed temporarily in Arcadia for testing purposes and has now been rolled back. The update going live uses the intended balancing, where the Mournel hardness and health are higher than during the test, and the Shrine claiming costs are back to 200 Mournwood and 50k Gold.

You can now acquire Mournwood from Mournel trees in Lyonesse.

You can use Mournwood along with Gold to control one (or more) of the 12 new Feudal Shrines in Lyonesse.

The shrines can be upgraded to allow more building and a feature upkeep system.

Lyonesse map has been updated to show the Shrines along with the heraldry of the controlling Clan and the Mournel tree spawns.

While bearing Mournwood, characters are unable to call upon Fast Travel miracles, including using Unstuck.

Logout time in Lyonesse has been expanded to 60 seconds and resets if you receive damage during this time. Remember to only log out in locations you know are safe.

Doors require players to be members of the controlling Clan when placed on a plot near a Shrine. We will introduce similar controls outside of Lyonesse.

An issue that sometimes flagged players for PvP upon entering Lyonesse through the safe areas has been fixed.

You’ll now only experience the “20s Weapon Switching Cooldown” when equipping a weapon that is different from the last one that was equipped.

Fix for NPC spawning issue that caused named NPCs in dungeons to be extremely rare. They should appear at expected rates now.

Fixed an issue where the Valet of the Chamber was accidentally showing up in a place where it shouldn’t have.

Cultists have heightened security and become more protective of their piles of ill-got loot.

Cave populations have been bolstered and rearranged to the whims of the Divine.

Zebian Cultists have rearranged and bolstered their forces within Zebeum dungeons.

Fixed an issue where multiple players could sit on pre-placed chairs in POIs.

Fixed issues where creatures in caves would spawn in unreachable places.

Demonic trees from the Corrupted Plains biome are no longer interactable by any player-facing means.

The resource balancing has seen quite significant changes, as you can read below. We’d like to highlight that while the number of spawn nodes in some specific cases is now less than before, the total harvestable resources are up across the board for all resources due to the respawn timers being faster.

XP from Elite and Boss enemies has been increased by 18%.

Elite enemies deal more damage, especially Elite Cultists and Demons.

Enemies should lose interest in you a bit sooner, especially if you haven’t done anything to them and you’re running away from them.

Pure Iron found outside Lyonesse has been slightly increased.
